Joseph Schmitt

Managing Director

Joe brings over 18 years of corporate finance and M&A experience to TSC, where he is responsible for Fund administration, deal sourcing, due diligence and execution. Joe has extensive experience advising both buyers and sellers of privately held companies and divisions of public companies on various types of engagements including acquisition reviews, post-merger integration activities, sale mandates and strategic options analyses.

Joe is also a founder and Managing Director of Greenwich Capital Group, where he leads the Healthcare practice, including extensive experience with providers, including hospital systems, physician practice management and ancillary services. Additionally, he serves as a member of GCG’s investment committee and serves as the firm’s CFO, which includes responsibility firm’s day-to-day administrative responsibilities, financial reporting requirements and client / engagement acceptance oversight. Prior to joining GCG, Joe served as Chief Financial Officer of a middle-market utility services company where he acted as a strategic advisor to the shareholders and managed the business through a period of growth and transition. Previously, he was a Vice President with Deloitte Corporate Finance LLC where he focused on M&A, capital advisory and business strategy. Throughout his career, Joe has executed more than 100 investment banking and financial advisory engagements, performing advanced financial modeling, including entity valuations, transaction executing and structuring. Joe has experience across various industries and has developed an expertise in the Healthcare, Business Services and General Industrial sectors.

Joe received an MBA and BA in Finance from Eli Broad College of Business at Michigan State University. Joe was recognized by Crain’s Detroit Business in their “40 under 40” list in 2016. Additionally, Joe serves as a Trustee and Treasurer of the City of Grosse Pointe Foundation.
